Travel etiquette is often a hot topic, especially when it comes to behavior on planes. One man’s actions during a flight have sparked conversations online.
A commonly discussed issue is the type of luggage that should be placed in the overhead bins. One traveler expressed frustration with people who store their backpacks in those spaces.
“The easiest way to tell if someone is a good person in an airport is to see where they put their luggage when they get on a plane,” the traveler stated in a TikTok video.
“If they put their carry-on luggage in the overhead compartment and they put their personal item — like their backpack or their purse — under the seat, they’re a good person and they’re aware of their surroundings.”
He went on to criticize those who place small personal items in overhead lockers, labeling them as the ‘worst’ kind of passengers.
Another debate has emerged concerning passengers who remove their shoes and socks during flights.
A TikTok video shared by Natalie Buffet captures a man walking out of the plane’s restroom completely barefoot.
“Straight to jail,” she captioned the video, which has been viewed over nine million times.

However, not everyone disapproved of the man’s actions.
“wth did he do wrong,” questioned one viewer. Another commented: “He didn’t do anything.”
A different user asked, “What was wrong with him walking out of the bathroom?”
On the other hand, many aligned with Natalie, describing the man’s behavior as ‘disgusting.’ While some are indifferent to going barefoot on a plane, the main concern is the fact he used the restroom without shoes.
“The amount of people who don’t see the issues with this is disturbing,” one person remarked.
“Well that’s effing disgusting,” wrote another, while a third added, “Barefoot in a plane toilet is diabolical.”
“Barefoot in an airplane bathroom is savage AF,” echoed another commenter.

Some airlines have rules against passengers going barefoot on a plane, with Delta and American Airlines among them.
American Airlines’ website advises passengers to “Dress appropriately; bare feet or offensive clothing aren’t allowed.”
Delta also warns that it may refuse to transport a passenger who is barefoot, as reported by The Sun.
The primary concern is hygiene, as travel YouTuber Megan Gougeon explained.
“The primary reason is for your own health and safety,” she mentioned in one of her videos. “Planes only get a quick surface cleaning between flights, leaving carpet and floors full of some pretty gross remnants.”
“Walking barefoot on these surfaces puts you at risk of picking up foot fungus or other infections,” Megan further explained.
