People are ‘in tears’ after witnessing major Trump move South Park creator foresaw in August

Many people are taken aback by predictions regarding Trump’s potential second term in the White House.

The former president has stirred up another debate after suggesting he will rename the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to include his own name, calling it ‘The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts’.

Trump is known for branding various properties and initiatives with his name, from the iconic Trump Tower in New York to the proposed ‘Trump Class’ battleships, despite the preference for aircraft carriers in modern naval strategy.

However, someone keenly observing this trend foresaw his move to rename the center and executed a clever move to satirize it by predicting the renaming of the center as ‘The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts’.

Who took these anticipatory measures?

The individual behind this is Toby Morton, a former writer for South Park, who anticipated Trump’s desire to rename the center.

In preparation, Morton secured the domain names TrumpKennedyCenter.org and TrumpKennedyCenter.com, planning to use these sites to humorously critique the president.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Morton explained: “As soon as Trump began gutting the Kennedy Center board earlier this year, I thought, ‘Yep, that name’s going on the building.’”

Elaborating on his motivations for this move, he said: “The Kennedy Center has always been a cultural institution meant to outlast any one administration or personality. It’s meant to honor culture, not ego. Once it was treated like personal branding, satire became unavoidable.”

Although Morton has yet to launch content on these domains, he has promised that the websites will eventually capture the absurdity of the situation, complete with unexpected elements. He noted, “Some things are truly hard to parody, though.”

This isn’t Morton’s first venture into political satire through domain names. On his Instagram, he mentioned acquiring over 100 domain names aimed at critiquing political figures.

Among these is itsthef*ckingguns.com, a site that advocates for stricter gun control in the U.S., and momsforliberties.com, which parodies the far-right group Moms for Liberty, known for opposing educational content on LGBTQ+ issues and racism.

What Morton plans to do with the new websites remains to be seen, but they promise to be engaging and thought-provoking.
