After a video of Marisa Tomei celebrating her birthday on Wednesday (December 4) went viral, fans couldn’t help but express their admiration on social media.
Marisa has enjoyed a successful career in Hollywood, having starred in numerous notable films.
Her film credits include Crazy, Stupid Love from 2011, Trainwreck in 2015, and The King of Staten Island in 2020. However, she is most commonly recognized these days for her role as Aunt May in Marvel’s Spider-Man series, where she stars alongside Tom Holland.
Similar to other Marvel Cinematic Universe stars, with the exception of Peter Parker, Marisa has been a trending topic on Twitter this week after a clip wishing her a happy birthday gained massive attention.
The video, lasting seven seconds, shows Marisa raising her leg in celebration before posing and smiling at the camera.
The post was captioned: “Happy 60th Birthday Marisa Tomei.”
Social media users were astonished that the actress had reached her 60th milestone.
One user commented: “What in the fountain of youth magic is this?”
Another fan suggested that her youthful appearance ‘needs to be investigated’, while some simply declared her the ‘hottest 60-year-old on the planet’.
Someone else expressed their affection for the star, writing: “Now it looks like I’ll be in love with her until she’s in her mid-90s.”
Meanwhile, a straightforward comment read: “Amazing.”
As surprising as it may seem, Marisa was indeed born on December 4, 1964, in Brooklyn, New York.
Marisa’s breakthrough came with her performance in the 1992 film My Cousin Vinny, earning her the Best Supporting Actress award at the 1993 Academy Awards.
During the 1990s, she appeared in a variety of sitcoms, such as Seinfeld and The Simpsons, and made her Broadway debut in 1998 with the play Wait Until Dark.
Her role in the 2001 film In The Bedroom brought her a second Academy Award nomination and her first Golden Globe Award nomination.
In an interview with NewBeauty Magazine earlier this year, Marisa mentioned she’s not fazed by turning 60, calling it ‘a silly thing to be quantified by’.
The Wrestler star shared: “My advice to my younger self is keep partying and keep having fun and do all the late nights and do everything that comes across your plate. That’s the time to do it, really.”
As for maintaining her youthful glow, Marisa surprisingly avoids a wide array of skincare treatments.
She said: “I don’t really do that. I just never got in the groove.”
“As I’m getting older, I realize that I need it more, but I still have to work at making it more a part of my routine.”
However, she does appreciate a ‘good facial massage’ as she finds it beneficial for helping ‘the facial muscles to fall into place’.
Just going to make a note of that, thank you.
