People Feel Ill After Uncovering Neglected Component of Air Fryer They Never Clean

Air fryer fans have been taken aback upon discovering a concealed area in the machine that can accumulate dirt without them noticing.

Typically, new devices come with guidelines on proper care and cleaning. More often than not, new device owners treat these details as mere obstacles to actually starting to use the device.

You might skim through the booklet, noting how to cook chicken wings correctly, but a lot of the information is usually overlooked. A recent video has highlighted why this can be problematic.

The alarming discovery was shared in a clip by Just Clean It, where the TikToker revealed a hidden compartment at the bottom of their air fryer.

This section seemed to house a heating element, but it wasn’t just that; it also concealed a thick layer of dirt and grease, likely accumulated over multiple uses.

The TikToker attempted to clean the hidden compartment by spraying some cleaning product and scrubbing it. However, while the towel picked up a lot of filth, the grease remained largely unaffected.

Seeking cleaning advice, they wrote: “Is there a proper way to clean this or should I just pretend I didn’t notice?”

Viewers were shocked to learn that their own air fryers might be equally filthy. One user commented: “I choose [to] ignore this video and continue with my life. Thank you very much.”

Another user quipped: “The underside of my air fryer is none of my business.”

A third viewer endorsed the ‘ignorance is bliss’ approach, saying: “I’m gonna just pretend my air fryer doesn’t have this part and never lift mine up.”

Some users did offer practical cleaning tips, such as using boiling water, lemon juice, and a bristle brush.

One individual even referenced the instruction manual, suggesting: “A new air fryer my work got in the instruction manual said to run it for 15 mins at 350 to run off any remaining grease residue.”

If you’re worried about the cleanliness of your air fryer, it’s a good idea to consult the manual for tips specific to your make and model.

Additionally, general advice for air fryers includes washing removable parts in warm, soapy water and using a damp cloth to wipe down the heating element once the fryer is unplugged.

Ignoring the dirt might seem easier, but remember, it’s always better to clean the machine to prevent grease and grime buildup!
