Observers have pointed out an unusual resemblance between the death of Charlie Kirk and a film featuring Nicolas Cage.
When significant events occur, it often leads to the emergence of various theories, and the death of Kirk is no exception.
Kirk was tragically shot in the neck while speaking at a college event in Utah on September 10.
Known for his far-right activism, Kirk had strong opinions on issues like the US civil rights movement, which he deemed a ‘mistake,’ as well as topics such as women’s reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and gun violence. He controversially stated that some gun deaths were ‘worth it’ to uphold Second Amendment rights.
Following the news of Kirk’s passing, individuals on social media began drawing parallels to a Nicolas Cage movie they found intriguing.
It’s not Captain Corelli’s Mandolin but a 1998 film starring Cage titled Snake Eyes, which presents some peculiar coincidences when compared to Kirk’s death.
To summarize the film, it’s an action thriller where Cage plays detective Rick Santoro, attending a boxing match featuring a defense secretary.
During the match, the secretary is assassinated, leading Cage’s character on a quest to solve the mystery.
Interestingly, the victim in the film, portrayed by Joel Fabiani, is named Charles Kirkland.
The names do bear a striking similarity.
On Twitter, someone remarked: “Wait, let me get this straight. In 1998, there was a movie where a political figure named Charlie Kirkland gets assassinated by Tyler the executioner, on September 10th, and the entire world watches the execution? There is no way this is true.”
However, not all details align with reality.
While there is a character named Tyler, who shares a name with the suspect in Kirk’s shooting, he is a boxer in the movie, not the one who assassinates Charles Kirkland on screen.
Moreover, the film does not explicitly mention the date of September 10.
The plot thickens with a mystery revolving around arms development and geopolitics, involving Cage’s character, a corrupt detective.
The coincidence of the similar names is certainly intriguing, but looking beyond that may be stretching it a bit!
However, the internet often revels in exploring odd conspiracies that link recent news with films from the 1990s starring Nicolas Cage.
