Actors often adopt stage names, but in the case of Mia Goth, her name is simply an abbreviated version of her full, lengthy name.
People are frequently surprised to discover the real names of celebrities, as was the case when Jennifer Aniston found out what Reese Witherspoon’s complete name is.
Despite their long-lasting friendship, Aniston was taken aback to learn her The Morning Show co-star’s full name is actually Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon.
While Witherspoon has a different name, Mia Goth is genuinely called Mia Goth, contrary to some assumptions that it was a stage name. Her Hollywood persona doesn’t fully reflect her actual name, however.
Goth has Brazilian roots, where it’s common to retain both parents’ surnames. Although not mandatory, this tradition is widely practiced in Brazilian families, and Goth follows it as well.

The Frankenstein star has a Brazilian mother and a Canadian father. Therefore, her full name is actually Mia Gypsy Mello da Silva Goth.
She opened up about her name and heritage on the Skip Intro podcast recently.
“I was born in London and when I was two weeks old, my mom and my dad and me got on a plane and we went to Rio,” Goth said. “I was there until I was five.”
“I was born in London but there’s a part of me that does feel very Brazilian and really resonate with the culture, the music, and the food,” she added.
Following these discussions, people have expressed surprise not only that Mia Goth’s name is authentic but also at the length of her full name.
One person commented: “It reminds me of when I told everyone that Michael B Jordan was a stage name so when it wasn’t, I’m still ashamed today.”
Another remarked: “She should demand people call her by her full name even in conversation.”
Others pointed out that a unique name like hers seemed destined for fame.
“Having a name like that you are born to be a star,” a Twitter user noted.
Somebody else on Reddit described her name as ‘cool as f**k’.
Fans have previously reacted positively to Goth’s distinctive name. One admirer expressed last year: “Now I love her even more.”
Another shared similar feelings, writing: “Way more incredible tbh and I’m liking her even more,” while someone else said: “This made me like her even more lmao.”
