Pete Davidson discusses abuse from grandfather, expresses relief at his passing

Pete Davidson has made a shocking claim regarding his maternal grandfather.

Known for his open style during stand-up routines, Davidson surprised many with his recent disclosure to an audience at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.

During the show, Davidson shared that his maternal grandfather has been diagnosed with lung cancer, but he appears relatively indifferent to the news.

“He was diagnosed with lung cancer, and I’m not that close with him,” remarked Kim Kardashian’s former partner. “I’m close with my dad’s dad. I don’t like my mom’s dad.”

As reported by Mail Online, Davidson elaborated: “He used to beat the s**t out of me and I don’t like him very much.

“He’s old school, he’s very Irish. You know those old Irish Jews that are so Irish, they’re like pink, right?

“His veneers are somehow brown. He’s just an old school dude, and he’s dying.”

Davidson did express his desire to support his mother, who is ‘sad’ about her father’s declining health.

In contrast, the Saturday Night Live star admitted he was ‘low key thrilled’ about his grandfather’s cancer diagnosis.

“I’m like, die slow motherf**er,” he added.

This isn’t the only revealing statement Davidson has made recently; a few months back, he discussed why he believes the public is so interested in his romantic life.

The King of Staten Island actor has been linked to several well-known individuals, including Ariana Grande, Emily Ratajkowski, and Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor.

“I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women and when it’s ended it’s been cool,” he told Page Six earlier this year.

“Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood,” Davidson continued. “Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keough. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”

He expressed his preference for being recognized for his professional achievements rather than his personal life.

“[It’s] embarrassing because you want people to write about your work. I was one of the youngest ever cast members on SNL and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating,” said Davidson.

In addition to his time on SNL, Davidson has appeared in movies such as Dumb Money, The Suicide Squad, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Dog Man, and Meet Cute.
