Pink has addressed the speculation that she erased all her tweets following Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ recent arrest.
Diddy was arrested last week and faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has been denied bail twice and is expected to remain in custody until his trial, which has yet to be scheduled.
After Diddy’s arrest, rumors circulated online suggesting that artists like Usher and Pink had removed tweets to conceal any potentially incriminating posts connected to the rapper’s case.
While Usher dispelled these rumors earlier, attributing his account’s activity to hacking, Pink has now clarified her stance by posting a statement on her Instagram and Facebook pages.
“I don’t know why I became a headline this week, but I wiped my Twitter account on February 6,” the singer wrote.
“There is no truth to the rumors spread this week, and while I’ve met people in passing, I’m not associated with any of the people mentioned.”
Pink also shared a screenshot of her final tweet from February 6, which read, “This account will self destruct in two minutes. Do it !!!!!!,” supporting her claim that she deleted her account earlier.
Usher, known for his musical collaboration with Diddy, faced similar rumors when most of his tweets appeared to be deleted on September 22.
Remaining tweets seemed to involve cryptocurrency scams, indicating a potential hack.
Upon regaining access to his Twitter account, Usher posted, “Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it! See you tonight at Inuit Dome.”
In response to Diddy’s arrest, his lawyer Marc Agnifilo commented: “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney’s Office.
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.
“To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
If convicted of all charges, Diddy could face up to 15 years in prison.
