Officers responded to a parking lot after reports of a man “unresponsive, slumped over, in a vehicle,” the report stated. Medics pronounced Satterley dead at the scene. A first responder noted no visible “injuries or suspicious markings” on his body, the document said.

During their inspection of the vehicle, police found Satterley’s British identification, two suitcases and a backpack in the trunk. His cellphone showed Google Maps open with O’Hare Airport entered as the final destination, according to the report.

The phone rang while officers were present. An officer answered and spoke with someone known to Satterley, whose name has not been released. That person told police Satterley had stopped somewhere for lunch and that his flight home had been delayed and rescheduled for 3:30 p.m. That day, the report indicated.
