Disturbing phone notes attributed to the Cybertruck bomber have surfaced, with him expressing that the tragic event ‘was not a terrorist attack’, but intended as ‘a wake up call.’
On New Year’s Day, US Special Forces soldier Matthew Livelsberger ended his life in a destructive explosion in his Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.
The 37-year-old decorated serviceman from Colorado Springs was on authorized leave when he traveled to the Trump hotel, rigging his vehicle with explosives that resulted in minor injuries to seven nearby individuals.
Authorities have determined Livelsberger’s death as a suicide, with Elon Musk confirming that Tesla’s senior team is conducting an investigation. However, officials are still examining his electronic devices to ascertain a motive behind the act.
Police have now uncovered unsettling notes on his phone.
“Fellow Servicemembers, Veterans, and all Americans, TIME TO WAKE UP! We are being led by weak and feckless leadership who only serve to enrich themselves,” one note stated.
Another note continued with, “We are the United States of America, the best country people to ever exist! But right now we are terminally ill and headed toward collapse.”
He further explained: “This was not a terrorist attack, it was a wake up call. Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives?”
“Why did I personally do it now? I needed to cleanse my mind of the brothers I’ve lost and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took.”
This information has emerged following his ex-girlfriend’s disclosure of texts she received from him leading up to the explosion.
On December 29 at 9am, Livelsberger texted Alicia Arritt from Denver stating: “I rented a Tesla Cybertruck. It’s the s***.”
The exchange was casual, showing no signs of what was to follow, as he remarked: “I feel like Batman or halo.”
Livelsberger continued to communicate with Arritt up until New Year’s Eve, sharing photos and videos of the vehicle.
Although Arritt was pleased to hear from Livelsberger, it seemed unusual given their challenging breakup in 2021.
Livelsberger updated her on his current endeavors, saying: “I’m building drones in my new position. You would love it.”
Arritt inquired about the Cybertruck’s speed, to which Livelsberger responded: “Ungodly.”
As the investigation into the explosion outside the Trump hotel continues, Arritt told The Denver Gazette that Livelsberger was ‘the kindest man’ she had ever known.
“He got me through a difficult time,” she remembered, mentioning how Livelsberger had purchased a home for his mother during her illness.
She observed that after Livelsberger returned from a Middle East tour with a traumatic brain injury in 2019, his demeanor shifted, and he became more withdrawn. Yet, she also remembered him as a patriotic man, making the New Year’s Day incident all the more perplexing.
At the time of his passing, Livelsberger was married and had recently become a father.
