Jen Affleck has filed for divorce from husband Zac Affleck while pregnant with their fourth child.
The “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star, 27, submitted the petition Tuesday in Utah court and included a proposed parenting plan, according to obtained court documents. Zac Affleck, 30, had been her husband for more than seven years. The couple met on the Mormon dating app Mutual in 2018 and married the following year.

Their split comes just four months after Jen announced her fourth pregnancy on Instagram in June, posting photos of her baby bump without Zac appearing in any of the pictures. The couple already shares three young children: Nora, 4, Lucas, 3, and Penelope, 1.
Marital tensions between the pair have played out across multiple seasons of the Hulu reality series. Jen previously told viewers that the couple had attended therapy to work through their issues and that the experience had strengthened their bond. Yet the conflicts resurfaced during Season 5.
“Zac was taught growing up to not only be modest himself but for it to be an expectation for women around him,” she said in a confessional segment, adding that it’s “definitely been hard navigating [her] career goals” while also honoring Zac’s “traditional values and traditional views.”

The friction centered partly on Jen’s professional ambitions, including her desire to pose for Sports Illustrated. She felt her husband failed to back her pursuits.
“I feel like if he truly loved me unconditionally, he would want to support me and I don’t even feel like there’s a conversation of a compromise,” she continued.
She also revealed that Zac had threatened to end their marriage if she accepted an acting role that required her to portray a character in a relationship with another actor.

“I feel like Zac is not taking these dreams and goals seriously,” she noted. “I think he’s afraid of losing me.”

The divorce filing marks a significant turn for the couple whose relationship has been documented since the show’s first season. Viewers watched as Jen attempted to balance her growing public profile with Zac’s more conservative expectations for their partnership.
Despite the therapy and public declarations of improvement, the underlying disagreements about gender roles and career boundaries persisted. Jen’s move toward mainstream modeling opportunities appeared to accelerate the disconnect between her aspirations and Zac’s comfort level.

The family’s relocation from Utah to Southern California had already been established for Jen’s upcoming starring role in “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County,” a Hulu spinoff of the original series. The new show will follow her life in Orange County as she navigates the next chapter.
The pregnancy announcement in June had suggested the couple was moving forward together, with Jen prominently displaying her expectant figure in social media content that notably excluded her husband from the frame.

The court filing on Tuesday makes clear that the marriage has ended regardless of the pending arrival of their fourth child. The proposed parenting plan indicates Jen is seeking structured arrangements for custody as the family restructures.
Jen is set to star in the upcoming Hulu reality spinoff “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.”
