Prime Video users are buzzing over a new ’10/10′ series featuring two prominent actors.
Fans are so enthralled by it, they’re watching all episodes in a single night.
As autumn approaches and the weather cools, it’s the perfect opportunity to stay inside and dive into a new TV show.
The thriller in question spans six episodes, with viewers describing it as an ‘edge-of-your-seat’ experience.
Even more enticing, this television series features a crossover with House of Cards’ Robin Wright and House of the Dragons’ Olivia Cooke leading the ensemble.
The narrative centers around Laura Sanderson (played by Wright), who seemingly has it all—a thriving art gallery, a devoted husband, and a strong bond with her adult son, Daniel (Laurie Davidson).
Everything changes when Daniel introduces his new girlfriend, Cherry Laine (Cooke), and Laura becomes wary of her. Is Cherry concealing secrets or being manipulative? Or is Laura’s protectiveness—perhaps bordering on paranoia—twisting her view of reality? Laura is determined to uncover the truth, leading to complications and strained loyalties.
The series is titled The Girlfriend and it debuted on Prime Video on September 10.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, a fervent viewer exclaimed: “The Girlfriend on Prime is F**KING GOOD and why is no one talking about it??”
Another viewer proclaimed: “Just finished The Girlfriend on prime, now that was REAL TV. Absolute 10/10!!”
A third echoed: “Just wrapped up The Girlfriend on Prime Video. What a stunning series. Every moment was a treat I can’t lie. 10/10.”
The conversation extended to Reddit, where someone described the show as an ‘edge of the seat psychological thriller’ and wanted to hear others’ opinions.
One fan, who watched the entire series in one go, admitted: “I kept waiting to put it away and watch tomorrow but you know a girl has to know what is going to happen.”
Another said: “Oh yes I wanted to watch the whole thing in one sitting too. I had plenty of popcorn but I had to stop each time after two episodes because I had to let it marinate it was so crazy. I would love another season.”
“Just finished it and also loved it!” added another commenter. “No one plays the b***h like Robin Wright!”
Though fans have praised the show as a 10/10, and it initially received a 100 percent Rotten Tomatoes score from critics, the ratings have since decreased slightly.
Critics have adjusted their rating to 88 percent, describing it as ‘a twisty thriller that strains credulity with so much aplomb that audiences won’t mind.’
Audience reviews have given it a 74 percent rating.
The Girlfriend is available to stream now on Prime Video.
