Prime Video’s Latest ‘Spicy’ Romance Adaptation is a Must-Watch for Valentine’s Day

A new drama has made its debut on Prime Video, perfect for a thrilling Valentine’s Day weekend viewing.

This ‘spicy’ film is adapted from a Wattpad story that became a book series by Italian author Stefania S, promising an engaging experience.

Titled Love Me, Love Me, this is the latest romance drama with a sports theme likely to capture our attention.

The year 2026 has already been significant for such genres, with HBO’s Heated Rivalry and Netflix’s Finding Her Edge creating buzz.

While the aforementioned dramas center around ice hockey and ice skating, Prime Video’s adaptation explores the realm of MMA fighting.

Love Me, Love Me centers on June (Mia Jenkins), who relocates to Milan, Italy to start anew after her brother’s passing.

At her new prestigious school, she becomes interested in James (Pepe Barroso), a captivating yet troubled individual involved in clandestine MMA competitions.

Despite her feelings for James, she starts dating his best friend, Will (Luca Melucci), who exemplifies the ideal honor student.

But naturally, a Wattpad adaptation wouldn’t be complete without its share of drama.

“However, appearances are deceiving, and June soon discovers that no one at her school is as they seem—everyone is hiding a secret,” the Prime Video synopsis reveals.

“As tensions rise and hidden truths come to light, June must decide to whom her heart truly belongs.”

The cast also includes Andrea Guo as Amelia, June’s classmate and friend, along with Michelangelo Vizzini, Madior Fall, and Vanessa Donghi.

The original novel, known as Cuori Magnetici—translated as ‘magnetic hearts’ in Italian—is characterized as a ‘spicy dark romance,’ as noted by GoodReads.

Around 24 million users engaged with the Wattpad series before it was acquired by Italian publishers.

The film’s trailer, which you can view below, hints at intense fight scenes, interspersed with June’s increasingly complex romantic life, all set against the sophisticated backdrop of one of Italy’s trendiest cities.

In the comments on the Love Me, Love Me YouTube trailer, one viewer likened the film to ‘Maxton Hall meets Culpa Mia,’ drawing parallels to Prime’s German-language series about rivals-turned-lovers and the platform’s Spanish romance drama.

“Yes, I have seen this trope 50 thousand times. Yes, I will watch it again,” another viewer remarked.

“This is more Wattpad coded than Wattpad itself,” joked another.

Love Me, Love Me is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
