Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Set to Return to California ‘Without a Peace Deal’ With Royal Family

Gayle King, a close friend of the duchess, asserts that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are leaving for Los Angeles without having reconciled with King Charles and Prince William.

The CBS Mornings host was in London for the Queen’s funeral and said that the ‘turmoil’ and rift between the Sussexes and the royal family had not been resolved.

On several occasions, Harry and William have stood next to their father, King Charles III, while he laments the loss of his mother. Additionally, Meghan and Kate participated in a joint engagement. It is unclear, however, if the fragile cease-fire will last, especially since Harry’s autobiography is set to be published later this year.

Oprah Winfrey introduced King to Meghan and Harry, and she later attended the Duchess’ opulent baby shower hosted by Serena Williams and Amal Clooney. In the eyes of the US media, she is one of the couple’s biggest allies.

There have been attempts on all sides to make this right, she remarked after the Queen’s burial outside Westminster Abbey.

She acknowledged that despite these “efforts,” there had been no rapprochement and said, ‘Big families always go through drama, always go through turmoil. It remains to be seen — are they going to be drawn closer together or are they going to be drawn apart? I have no idea, I have no inside information on that, but I will tell you this: It was good to see Harry standing with his family’.

Despite being rumored to return to California as soon as possible to be with Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, after two weeks apart, Meghan and Harry spent the evening of Monday’s funeral in Windsor’s Frogmore Cottage.

The Sussexes haven’t been spotted in public since Harry puffed his cheeks and Meghan looked forward as they left St. George’s Chapel after the Queen was laid to rest. The Royal Family remains in mourning for another week with all engagements canceled until next Tuesday.

Throughout the week, Harry and William made a number of unusual public gestures of cooperation. While William was spotted yesterday directing the pair to their seats in St. George’s Chapel, the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan, were asked to join the Prince and Princess of Wales on September 10 to view flower tributes outside Windsor Castle.
