Priscilla Presley’s legal team has addressed a $50 million lawsuit, which alleges that the 80-year-old disconnected her daughter Lisa Marie’s life support.
Lisa Marie Presley died at the age of 54 following a cardiac arrest and being placed in an induced coma in January 2023.
On Thursday (August 14), it emerged that Priscilla’s former business associates have accused her of removing Lisa’s life support to gain control of her family legacy.
Documents obtained by The Post indicate that Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko, leaders of Priscilla Presley Partners, allege that Priscilla wanted to dominate her daughter’s trust and Graceland.
Graceland, the estate owned by rock and roll legend Elvis Presley, was passed down to Lisa after his passing in 1977.
There are claims against Priscilla, suggesting she was aware her daughter planned to remove her as the trust’s head and thus acted quickly to terminate life support soon after Lisa Marie was hospitalized.
The lawsuit states, “Priscilla knew that Lisa’s death neutralized the threat of Lisa’s efforts to have Priscilla removed as the sole trustee of Lisa’s irrevocable life insurance trust, and Priscilla ultimately wanted to control the Promenade Trust and Graceland.”
“At her house the following week, Priscilla allegedly exclaimed, ‘I’m the queen. I’m in charge of Graceland.'”
Marty Singer, Priscilla’s attorney, released a statement, describing the lawsuit as ‘ridiculous’ and ‘salacious.’
In a statement, it was asserted: “This is, without a doubt, one of the most shameful, ridiculous, salacious, and meritless lawsuits I have seen in my practice.
“This is nothing more than a sad and vicious attempt to falsely tarnish the reputation of an eighty-year-old woman in blatant retaliation for bringing a lawsuit to redress the wrongful conduct of Brigitte Kruse, Kevin Fialko, and their co-conspirators.
“Kruse and her co-conspirators are now on their fourth different set of lawyers in this dispute, and this is a disgusting publicity stunt by new counsel, as evidenced by the fact that the complaint and press release were sent to the press before the complaint was served.”
The statement continues, “Accusing a grieving mother of contributing to her daughter’s death is not savvy advocacy; it is malicious character assassination, and should be broadly condemned.
“These fabricated claims have absolutely no validity, and we are confident this case will be dismissed.”
It also mentions that Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter, is fully supportive of her grandmother amid the legal challenge.
