A Pakistani spiritual figure who vanished without trace in 2001 is now at the center of apocalyptic predictions being circulated by his followers for 2026.
Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi, who was in his early fifties when he disappeared, made a startling prophecy in the year 2000 in his Urdu-language book “The Religion of God.” The prediction, which his organization still promotes, claims a “mammoth comet” will strike Earth by the end of 2026 as divine punishment for nuclear weapons use and global warfare. Many of us have lost faith in humanity itself.” The organization also claims that “terrorist organisations” continue to “represent the mischief of the Anti-Christ to be defeated only in the Armageddon.”
Shahi’s followers maintain that his spiritual mission centered on “initiating the hearts of aspirants with God’s name.” The MFI promotes additional mystical claims about their vanished leader, asserting that his face appears in celestial bodies. The organization believes Shahi’s face can be seen on the surface of the Moon, alongside those of Jesus and the Virgin Mary.
