Supermarket Gets Dog-Friendly Carts To Let Pups Ride Whilst Owners Shop

The days of leaving your puppy sadly tied to a post outside as you grocery shop are over (at least in Spain) thanks to one genius supermarket owner’s invention.

Gianfranco Galanti, owner of Spanish grocery store Unes, decided to make his supermarket carts dog-friendly.

There’s a special partitioned section for little dogs to sit or stand up front, rather than waiting outside the shop for their humans.

Gianfranco thinks it gives shoppers “peace of mind to take all the time they need to make their purchases”, saying, “The initiative launched just recently, but we’ve already noticed how much our customers appreciate it.”

Yep, this dog seems pretty happy.

Small dogs are legally allowed in stores like Unes as long as they’re kept under control and Gianfranco maintains hygiene standards by ensuring carts are cleaned after each use.

Er, human? You forgot the dog treats.
