Quentin Tarantino discloses the single film he will never watch and shares his reasons

Quentin Tarantino has shared the unexpected movie he refuses to watch, and many movie enthusiasts have echoed his sentiment.

Tarantino, the mastermind behind cult classics such as Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Kill Bill, is known for his films filled with blood and gore.

Given this, it might come as a surprise that he holds a special fondness for a beloved animated series.

The franchise in question? None other than the iconic Toy Story.

In fact, while Tarantino admitted he generally doesn’t have much time for animated films, he has described Toy Story 3 as ‘magnificent’ and ‘one of the best movies [he’s] ever seen’—a significant compliment from a filmmaker of his stature.

But which movie does he refuse to watch? The answer is Toy Story 4.

This might seem puzzling since Tarantino enjoyed the first three films so much—especially the third one—but people actually understand his rationale.

Discussing the franchise on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, the director mentioned: “I don’t watch all the animated movies and stuff, but I’m a big fan of the Toy Story trilogy.”

He added: “In the case of Toy Story, the third one is just magnificent. It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. And if you’ve seen the other two, it’s just devastating.”

For those familiar with Pixar, you’ll recall Andy donating his Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the crew to Bonnie.

Watching Andy drive away, Woody says his famous catchphrase: “So long, partner.”

Is someone cutting onions?

And it’s Tarantino’s affection for Toy Story 3 that’s deterred him from watching Toy Story 4.

“The thing is, then three years later or something they did a fourth, and I have no desire to see it,” he explained. “You literally ended the story as perfectly as you could, so no, I don’t care if it’s good. I’m done.”

Toy Story 4 boasts a 97 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, just one percent shy of Toy Story 3’s nearly perfect score.

While the fourth installment of the franchise is very popular, many film fans understood Tarantino’s perspective.

One person tweeted: “I completely agree!!!! Sometimes it is better to leave it on a high note than churning out more movies just for profits.”

Another concurred: “I didn’t mind Toy Story 4, but we didn’t need it. And we certainly don’t need a 5.”

Reflecting on the end of Toy Story 3, someone else remarked: “I agree 100%. Andy driving off is the ending.”

Who is going to inform Tarantino that Toy Story 5 is currently in the works?
