A North Carolina laundromat owner is confirming that a wild deer crash caught on camera was no digital hoax.
Corey Pendergrass, who runs Wishy Washy Laundry in Winston-Salem, said an employee called him immediately after the buck burst through the front window on Tuesday. No customers inside were injured during the mayhem, Pendergrass told FOX 8, though a woman struck outside in the parking lot had already left before staff could check on her condition.

The business itself leaned into the chaos on social media, posting wild surveillance footage from multiple angles. “Nothing can prepare you for what happened at the Wishy Washy today,” the laundromat wrote alongside clips showing the deer’s full rampage. The footage captures the animal charging across the street toward the building, leaping over a vehicle, and knocking a woman to the ground before it ever reached the glass.
“For those wondering, this is 100% legit. No AI. A freaking deer crashed through our laundromat today,” Wishy Washy Laundry commented on their post, pushing back against any skepticism online.

Inside the building, the four-legged intruder galloped past rows of machines and sent customers scrambling for safety. Several people ducked for cover while one man hopped onto a table as the deer zoomed past, smashing into multiple laundry carts along the way. The buck kept moving, jumping over a couch and trotting toward the back of the establishment before leaping on top of some laundry machines.
After making his way off the machines, the deer exited the same way it entered, hopping back through the broken front windows. It then ran down the road and out of view of the surveillance cameras.

The smashed window was repaired the same day, according to the local station. Pendergrass noted that the quick fix allowed operations to continue without extended interruption.

The incident drew fresh attention to the unpredictable wildlife encounters that can disrupt everyday routines in suburban North Carolina, where developed areas increasingly border deer habitat.
