Rebecca Ferguson recently elaborated on a negative experience with an ex-co-star she described as an ‘idiot’ and a challenging colleague.
Back in 2021, the Swedish actress made headlines when she disclosed that a fellow actor had left her in tears after an on-set confrontation.
She spoke about this difficult experience on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, vowing never to collaborate with that individual again.
Now, Ferguson has provided further insights into the situation, clarifying who the person was not.
In January 2024, Ferguson recounted, “I remember there was a moment and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out,” explaining how the situation affected her emotionally.
“But because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So, no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set,” she added.
In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, Ferguson disclosed even more details about the incident that took place two years ago.

In the March 2026 issue, she reflected on how she would handle the situation differently if it were to happen now.
“It wasn’t about the person. It was about me,” she stated. “It was so scary. I didn’t know then how to go, ‘Hey, can I talk to you privately?’ Now I would want to believe that I could have taken this person aside.”
Ferguson recalled how the actor would belittle her in front of the crew with harsh remarks.
“They would say things like ‘You call yourself an actor?’, ‘This is what I have to work with?’, and ‘What the f**k is this?’” she described.
She didn’t take these insults lying down and told the actor to “f**k off” and leave the set.
Despite not naming the co-star, fans have tried to deduce their identity based on some of the hints she gave.

Ferguson clarified that the problematic co-star was someone she had worked with in the last decade. However, she confirmed it was neither Hugh Jackman nor Tom Cruise.
Ferguson had previously collaborated with Jackman in The Greatest Showman and with Cruise in the Mission Impossible films.
While the co-star’s identity remains a mystery,
Ferguson has revisited this story before, admitting some responsibility in a prior interview with The Times.
“I will shove someone under a bus in front of an entire crew to make a point,” she acknowledged. “I don’t applaud my own behavior in that. It’s a really tricky world.”
It’s uncertain if Ferguson will ever reveal who she was referring to, but the mystery continues to intrigue the public. Internet sleuths, your work is cut out for you!
