Rebel Wilson involved in unexpected set mishap that nearly caused lasting facial injury

During the filming of Rebel Wilson’s upcoming movie “Bride Hard,” an unexpected accident nearly resulted in a severe injury for the actress.

Wilson, an Australian actress, plays a spy in this comedy. The film involves her character attending her childhood best friend’s wedding, which is interrupted by mercenaries. However, the 45-year-old’s character is prepared for the chaos that ensues.

On this particular occasion, it was Wilson herself who was caught off guard. She recounted how a final fight scene, which took place at 3am, concluded not with laughter but with a trip to a plastic surgeon for stitches.

While promoting the one-hour-45-minute film alongside her co-star Anna Camp, Wilson revealed the alarming incident that occurred on director Simon West’s set.

“I did have a massive injury on this movie. I was in a fight scene, a gun accidentally got whacked across my face – it was just a freak accident, and my nose got split open,” Wilson shared with Access Hollywood.

“So I left set. It was weirdly my last night of shooting, I was like, ‘how unlucky can I be?’, the last night of shooting, the last fight sequence my nose gets bust open – it’s a pool of blood. If anybody’s had a facial injury, they know, like, there’s so much blood.

“I was freaking out, they take me in an ambulance and they have to call a plastic surgeon, because if they didn’t I would have been permanently disfigured. So we got the plastic surgeon, they did all the stitches, and you can’t tell now, like, you really can’t tell.”

She further mentioned: “Yeah, it was just one of those freak accidents. And so people gotta be real careful with onset safety, even sometimes when it’s 3am in the morning and everyone’s tired. Yes, you got to be real careful.”

Wilson might have hoped that the effort was worthwhile if “Bride Hard,” which is scheduled for release in theaters on Friday, June 20, received a warm reception, but reviews from well-known film critics suggest otherwise.

William Bibbiani of The Wrap gave a harsh review of the movie, titling it ‘This Incompetent Action-Comedy Is Where Humor Goes to Die,’ and described it as ‘abrasively hard to watch’ – harsh words indeed.

Similarly, The Hollywood Reporter’s Angie Han described it with a headline: Rebel Wilson’s Laugh-Free Action Comedy Is an Invitation You’ll Want to Decline.

Even if it may not resonate with critics, it might still be an entertaining way to spend an afternoon for some viewers.
