Haley Kalil has defended her candid remarks regarding her marriage to former NFL player Matt Kalil as she seeks to have a lawsuit against her dismissed.
Haley and Matt were married in 2015 and separated seven years later, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their divorce. Initially, not much more was revealed about the split, but Haley offered further insight last year into the reasons for their marriage ending.
At the age of 22, Haley got married, and during a Twitch stream with Marlon Garcia, she admitted she was a virgin on her wedding day.
The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model commented on her marriage, stating: “We were trying to do the damn thing.”
She then confided in Garcia: “I’m going to type something on my phone that the stream can’t see. That’ll put it into perspective for you.”
Garcia’s reaction to what she showed him resulted in laughter, with Haley adding: “Our whole marriage.”
“I was going to try it all. We tried it all: therapist, doctors. Looked up lipo-tye s**t,” she explained further.

Haley humorously noted, “That’s why it’s kinda funny. It’s like my life is a comedy, and it kinda writes itself. [That was] the biggest factor… Love him, but he’s my homie.”
She added, “He’s like 0.01 percent of the population. We’ve tried, impossible unless you’re going to be in tears type s**t.”
At another point, she seemed to describe her ex-husband’s anatomy as being the size of ‘two Coke cans stacked on top of each other, maybe even a third’.
Following these comments, Matt took legal action against Haley, claiming they brought him ‘unwanted attention and invasive commentary from the public’ and his family had to ‘endure the ongoing public circulation of these degrading and deeply personal statements’.
Haley is currently seeking to have the lawsuit dismissed, arguing that she never actually named Matt in her revealing discussion.
Matt’s lawsuit contends that ‘viewers could and did readily infer’ who she was referring to, but Haley maintains this inference is due to their public status, not her words.
She asserts there’s ‘no case law where a woman’s truthful account of her own sexual pain has been found to be an invasion of someone else’s privacy’, as reported by TMZ from legal documents.

In addressing the case, Haley’s lawyer, Matthew Bialick, told TMZ: “A woman’s right to provide a truthful account of her own relationships and her own past sexual trauma lies at the very core of First Amendment protections.”
“Mr. Kalil’s brief mentioned the First Amendment a grand total of three times and offered no constitutional analysis whatsoever. We are more confident than ever that this case will be dismissed and that Ms. Kalil will be awarded her attorneys’ fees.”
Ryan Saba of Rosen Saba LLP, representing Matt Kalil, responded: “Haley Kalil’s motion to dismiss does not dispute the fact that she wantonly disclosed private and intimate details about Matt Kalil that resulted in widespread ridicule and unwanted attention.”
“The motion completely misses the point that a spouse does not have a right to expose private and confidential marital and sexual details for the purpose of profiting. We expect that the motion will be completely denied.”
