A popular food chain has been identified as the least favored in America.
The United States is often seen as the hub of fast food, with many people having access to a Five Guys, KFC, or McDonald’s nearby.
Considering the myriad of choices available for fast food enthusiasts in the U.S., a survey was conducted to evaluate the country’s best and worst dining spots.
Conducted by Coupon Birds, the money-saving site highlighted that the U.S. fast food sector is valued at a staggering $387.5 billion.
With this context, the team behind the site aimed to identify where consumers should spend their money and ranked the chains accordingly.
They evaluated reviews from 161,054 different locations to derive their findings, and each chain was graded out of five using a balanced, weighted average, according to the site.
The findings were segmented into super chains, medium chains, and small chains, ultimately leading to a list of the nation’s worst-rated eateries.
So, which establishment topped the list as the worst? It was Taco John’s, a competitor to Taco Bell.
Taco John’s received an average rating of 2.61 out of five. That’s quite low.
Following closely behind is McDonald’s, with an average rating of 2.75, and in third place is Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, scoring 2.84.
Other chains that ranked among the top ten worst in the U.S. include Popeyes, Sonic, Wetzel’s Pretzels, and Buffalo Wild Wings ‘GO’.
This ranking might shock some loyal Taco John’s fans who have consistently praised the fast food chain.
“People just don’t talk about how elite Taco John’s is,” someone mentioned on Twitter recently.
Another individual tweeted last month, “I think Taco John’s is better than Taco Bell. I won’t stand down. I won’t stay silent. This is my final message before the Taco Bell-heads come to kill me.”
Echoing similar feelings, another person wrote on social media: “Unpopular Opinion: Taco John’s is better than Taco Bell. Potato Olés are forever a winner.”
Highlighting Taco John’s signature Potato Olés, someone else described them as the ‘highest evolution of the humble potato’.
On the flip side of the ranking, Chick-fil-A was rated as the best fast food chain, with a score of 3.95 out of five.
This was trailed by Five Guy’s, which scored 3.85, and Jersey Mike’s Subs, which received a score of 3.76.
