Revealing Trump Approval Ratings Highlight State-by-State Opinions 8 Months into Presidency

Donald Trump’s recent approval ratings have been released, showing a shift from positive to negative in two states.

Since beginning his second term, the 79-year-old President has maintained a busy agenda. Since returning to Washington D.C. in January, Trump has signed 202 Executive Orders.

These orders encompass a wide range of actions, including renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, prohibiting transgender athletes from participating in female sports categories, and forming a White House Task Force to prepare for the 250th anniversary of American Independence in 2026.

He has also enacted the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’, solicited donations from MAGA supporters for his journey to heaven, and recently warned NATO that continued oil purchases from Russia would lead him to consider their actions a waste of U.S. resources.

Trump has sparked debate with his fluctuating tariffs and has taken a strong stance on immigration, prompting protests in Los Angeles against deportation efforts.

A survey of 2,201 registered U.S. voters assessed their views on the Republican’s presidency and whether they believed he was performing well.

Results from the poll showed that 45 percent of voters approved of Trump’s job performance, while 52 percent disapproved.

Across three months of polls collected by Morning Consult, 25 states have expressed a positive approval rating for Trump.

These states include Wyoming, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee, the latter being where Trump announced on September 12 his intention to deploy the National Guard as part of a crime crackdown.

With a neutral rating in Arizona, 24 states, such as Vermont, Virginia, and New Jersey, have given him a negative rating.

North Carolina and Nevada, which previously showed positive approval in August, have now shifted to a net-negative approval according to the latest Morning Consult report.

As a result, Georgia remains the only 2024 swing state where citizens believe Trump is performing well in his second White House term.

In Wyoming, 62 percent of residents approve of Trump’s performance, while 33 percent disapprove, based on the data. Similarly, 60 percent in Idaho, West Virginia, and South Dakota approve, with 37 percent expressing disapproval.

The following states have given Trump a positive approval rating according to data released on September 5.

Conversely, 24 U.S. states have provided a negative approval rating, including two states with upcoming gubernatorial elections this fall.

In Virginia, 44 percent of voters approve of Trump’s performance, while 53 percent disapprove. In New Jersey, 43 percent approve, while 54 percent disapprove of his eight months in office.

Morning Consult reports a decline in Trump’s ratings in both states since its previous update.

The following states have given Trump a negative approval rating according to the latest data.
