Rihanna had an unexpected encounter with a hotel door, which her bodyguard seemingly failed to prevent, leading to a witty reaction from the singer.
The ‘California King Bed’ artist was in New York as her partner, A$AP Rocky, readied himself for his Saturday Night Live debut following the release of his fourth album, Don’t Be Dumb.
The duo has been seen throughout the city in fashionable attire, attending a date night and his album launch party on January 16, according to Vogue.
Recently, Rihanna was photographed leaving the Four Seasons hotel accompanied by her bodyguards. As she approached the door, it wasn’t held open, and it swung back, hitting her mid-step.
This incident was captured on camera and quickly shared on X and other social media platforms, including TikTok.

In the footage shared on X, the 37-year-old can be seen smiling slightly as she humorously remarks to one of her bodyguards: “Such a gentleman you are.”
Her comment sparked a debate in the comments section: some people agreed that the bodyguard should have ensured the door was held open, even for safety reasons, while others disagreed.

“He is her bodyguard, not boyfriend – she should get the difference,” one user noted, while another commented: “He should’ve just reached back without thinking.. i need a man who knows how to do the simple things without being asked to.”
Meanwhile, another person offered a different perspective, suggesting that the door incident was due to someone else letting go of the door.
They observed: “If you peep it’s actually the other dude who’s supposed to be holding the door. He let it go when he saw the bodyguard walk out (who was clearing a path) and didn’t recover in time.”
However, many recognized that Rihanna was simply having a bit of fun, as one commenter said: “Such a good humor from Rih,” and another agreed: “She has a good sense of humour!”
This incident follows weeks after a ‘bad’ post of the Fenty Beauty mogul went viral on the popular meme Instagram account fembase, showcasing a 2011 photo of Rihanna performing at V Festival.

The photo was already a viral topic at the time, revealing a scar on her chin that was previously unknown to many.
Rihanna was surprised to see the image used in a post titled: “Women don’t realize how much their boyfriends love ‘bad’ photos of them.”
The post elaborated: “Research and anecdotal evidence suggest that many men are drawn to candid or ‘imperfect’ photos of their girlfriends. These images can feel more authentic and intimate than highly polished shots.
“The appeal comes from emotional connection rather than aesthetics — seeing natural expressions or unfiltered moments often strengthens feelings of closeness and affection.
“For some couples, sharing casual or spontaneous photos can actually deepen trust and connection, highlighting the value of authenticity over perfection.”
In response, Rihanna humorously commented: “How I catch this stray tho?”
