Robert Pattinson reveals 2-hour call with Zendaya kept him ‘sane’ months before their ‘engagement’ rumors

Robert Pattinson revealed that Zendaya had to ‘very calmly’ reassure him as the marketing for their upcoming film together left fans puzzled.

The duo stirred up quite a buzz on social media recently, leaving many wondering about the nature of their collaboration.

The actors are set to appear in three films together next year: The Odyssey, Dune: Part Three, and the intriguingly titled The Drama, which has particularly caught people’s attention.

The marketing team behind these projects deserves recognition for their effective strategy, as they successfully captured the public’s interest and sparked conversation about the film.

The Drama, produced by A24, tells the story of a couple on the cusp of marriage, but all is not as it seems. The central characters, Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson, are portrayed by Zendaya and Pattinson, respectively.

To promote the film, an advertisement was placed in The Boston Globe, featuring a photo of the pair with Zendaya flaunting an engagement ring. Naturally, this image quickly circulated on social media, leaving many speculating about its significance and whether they had missed some major celebrity news.

For those not up-to-date with celebrity happenings, Zendaya is currently engaged to Tom Holland, while Pattinson is engaged to Suki Waterhouse.

Despite playing into their roles, Pattinson expressed how much he valued Zendaya’s support during a recent interview.

In an interview with the French publication Première, Pattinson shared that he was feeling overwhelmed ahead of filming a particular scene for The Drama with Zendaya.

To address his concerns, he reached out to his co-star for her perspective on the scene that was troubling him.

He recounted: “We had a scene together that was driving me crazy.

“I was desperately looking for its meaning, writing pages and pages of textual analysis.”

“I ended up calling Zendaya the night before shooting the scene. I shared my doubts with her, I spoke for two hours, and after a while, very calmly, she made me understand that the line just said what it meant to say, that there was no hidden meaning,” he continued.

Pattinson explained that this is a common experience for him, noting he had been anxious for three days.

He added: “I tend to stumble over the meaning of things. To the point of overdoing it, trying to solve mysteries that aren’t really mysteries.”
