Robert Pattinson shares harsh remark therapist made during session

Robert Pattinson recently opened up about a memorable question posed to him by a therapist. In an interview with Zendaya for Interview Magazine, the conversation delved into themes of identity and character development, during which Pattinson shared an intriguing comment from his therapy session.

In Kristoffer Borgli’s forthcoming movie, “The Drama,” both Pattinson and Zendaya have leading roles.

Pattinson recalled, “When I was involved in ‘Twilight,’ there was a simultaneous cultural backlash despite its tremendous success. It was a unique experience, enjoying the process of making the films while navigating the intense marketing campaigns.”

He continued, “I aimed to preserve my personal identity from being overshadowed by the character, striving to assert my individuality. This approach became integral to my sense of self. Initially, being recognized for a character led to misconceptions about my real identity.”

Zendaya noted that it must have felt ‘weird,’ to which Pattinson replied, “It was peculiar, but it also gave me the opportunity to resist it. I wasn’t overly attached to that identity since it never represented me.”

“… Many people fiercely guard their sense of self, declaring, ‘This is who I am,’ but I’ve never felt that way. While I have certainty about who I am, it doesn’t feel strange to wake up and embrace being someone different. [Laughs] It’s a positive form of insecurity. I’m just imagining how this will read, thinking, ‘You sound like such a…’.”

At this point, Zendaya interjected, and Pattinson shared the blunt question he encountered during therapy.

He recounted, “During a therapy session, the therapist questioned if I was using drugs because they couldn’t comprehend my thoughts. I responded, ‘I’m trying my best.’ [Laughs].”

In another recent discussion, Pattinson addressed previous remarks about his body odor.

Back in 2020, he mentioned to Allure that many remarked he “smelled like a crayon.” Crayons have a distinctive, waxy aroma, often described as earthy.

“Lots of people tell me I smell like a crayon,” he said then. When asked if this meant he was ‘made of wax,’ he affirmed, “Yes! Like I’m embalmed.”

In a chat with GQ, Pattinson updated on his scent, noting that his body chemistry has shifted, and he no longer has that waxy smell.

“My body chemistry has changed. It’s very strange. But I 100% used to smell exactly like a crayon,” the “Die My Love” star revealed.

Pattinson shared his unconventional theory about becoming ‘less scented’ with age, elaborating, “It’s odd, but I think you become less scented as you age. I don’t really notice my smell anymore. I once had a very particular, pronounced scent—like crayons.”

“Before that, it was a rather intense, sharp smell. Then, when it turned crayon-like, it felt as if something had changed.”
