Rosie O’Donnell Breaks Silence Following Daughter Chelsea’s Prison Sentence

Rosie O’Donnell, the well-known talk show host, has reached out to her audience, seeking ‘prayers’ after her daughter, Chelsea, received a prison sentence at the age of 28.

The 63-year-old comedian, who has a well-publicized dispute with Donald Trump, shares Chelsea with her former wife Kelli Carpenter. They also have sons Parker, 30, and Blake, 25, as well as daughter Vivienne, 22. Rosie also adopted a fifth child, Clay, 12, with her late ex-wife Michelle Rounds.

Chelsea, a mother of four young children, was sentenced to incarceration on October 22 following the revocation of her probation.

Earlier this year, in February, she admitted guilt to charges of resisting or obstructing an officer, felony bail jumping, and possession of methamphetamine.

Her plea was in response to being arrested three times between September and December 2024 on various charges, such as child neglect and possession of narcotic drugs.

On her February court date, Chelsea had misdemeanor charges for possessing drug paraphernalia and narcotic drugs dropped, leading to an initial sentence of six years of probation on March 31.

Despite the probation, Chelsea was cautioned about the possibility of imprisonment if she failed to adhere to probation requirements, which mandated sobriety, no possession of alcohol or controlled substances without a prescription, no interaction with known drug users or dealers, and no possession of firearms.

Allegations of probation violations due to sexual assault claims have since arisen against Chelsea, as reported by an official from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program to Us Weekly.

The official also mentioned that Chelsea was not making adequate progress in her treatment drug program.

A court document notes: “The facts surrounding this request have been staffed with the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team and have been deemed sufficient grounds to warrant termination from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program.”

Following Chelsea’s recent sentencing, O’Donnell posted a childhood photo of her daughter on Instagram.

With the photo, the mother expressed her continued support for Chelsea.

She stated: “My child chelsea belle – before addiction took over her life – i loved her then i love her now as she faces a scary future – prayers welcomed – #addiction awareness #love #family.”

Additionally, O’Donnell shared her thoughts with People, saying: “I have compassion for those struggling with addiction – Chelsea was born into addiction and it has been a painful journey for her and her four young children. We continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed.”

The exact duration of Chelsea’s sentence remains undisclosed, but an officer from the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to US Weekly that Chelsea has been detained since September 9 and received a prison sentence.

Subsequently, Chelsea has been relocated to the medium-security Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Wisconsin.
