Russell Brand faces additional charges for two new sexual offenses, including rape.
The actor and comedian has been under investigation by authorities following a revealing documentary and probe by Channel 4’s Dispatches and The Sunday Times, where multiple women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Brand.
Recently, the Metropolitan Police and the Crown Prosecution Service announced that Brand is now charged with two more sexual offenses. This includes one count of rape and one count of sexual assault related to incidents alleged to have occurred in 2009 involving two women.
These new charges add to previous ones against Brand, which included two counts of rape, an indecent assault charge, and two sexual assault charges. These were related to incidents allegedly occurring between 1999 and 2005, involving four women.
A court hearing for these latest charges is set for January 20, 2026, at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Brand has not yet submitted a plea regarding these recent charges.
Earlier, during a hearing at Southwark Crown Court, Brand denied the allegations from the period between 1999 and 2005, with a trial scheduled to take place there for these charges.
Originating from Oxfordshire in the UK, Brand has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel room.
The alleged victim was at the Labour Party Conference in Bournemouth at the time.
This is an ongoing story, and further updates will be provided.
