Russia warns that ‘apocalypse’ will commence if Trump proceeds with strategy

A Russian official has issued a grim warning on global conflict in the event that America were to acquire Greenland.

President Donald Trump has been attempting to purchase Greenland, claiming that it would enhance American national security. However, Greenland, a territory of Denmark, has firmly stated that it is not available for sale.

Denmark engaged in ‘frank’ discussions with JD Vance recently (January 14) in Washington DC. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen emphasized that there is no necessity for the US to take control of Greenland.

Rasmussen commented after the talks, according to The Guardian: “We didn’t manage to change the American position. It’s clear that the president has this wish of conquering Greenland. And we made it very, very clear that this is not in the interest of the kingdom.”

While Greenland is resistant to the idea of being purchased, both Russia and China are strongly opposed to Trump’s ambitions. A Russian official has even suggested that such actions could mark ‘the beginning of the end of the world’.

Dmitry Rogozin, a former deputy prime minister, ex-head of the Russian Space Agency, and once the Kremlin’s representative at NATO headquarters in Brussels, is a Russian senator who has expressed significant concerns over the matter.

Rogozin believes that America’s intent to acquire Greenland is tied to a plan for a ‘Golden Dome’ missile defense system, merging space, AI, and layered architecture into a single platform.

He elaborated: “Orbital sensors, ground interceptors, decision-making algorithms — all this requires advantageous geography. Greenland, with its Arctic position, proximity to Russia, and convenience for northern ICBM trajectories, fits perfectly into this architecture.”

Rogozin does not believe Trump is acting irrationally. Instead, he sees Trump as executing the Pentagon’s strategy — to stop negotiating with European allies, seize Greenland by force, and turn it into a platform for deploying nuclear attack and missile defense systems against Russian ICBMs.

“This is the dismantling of the entire system of strategic stability in the world that has prevented the use of nuclear weapons since 1945,” Rogozin added.

He also pointed out that America might believe it has an advantage in nuclear warfare if it gains control over Greenland, but he argues this is a misconception.

He cautioned: “This is the problem: the US, led by an eccentric, may convince themselves that, finally, thanks to the annexation of Greenland and the deployment there of components of the command and control system for strategic offensive weapons, they have achieved nuclear superiority over Russia and China… This will be the beginning of the end of the world.”

Rogozin asserts that the Arctic will be a significant factor in any nuclear conflict between the US and Russia.

“The Arctic is the fastest route for delivering nuclear warheads by missiles from the US to Russia and from Russia to the US,” he explained.

“Moreover, not only intercontinental ballistic missiles but primarily cruise missiles from multipurpose nuclear submarines.

“Arctic ice is mobile, and its thickness is not an obstacle for the surfacing of nuclear submarines. In the event of a thermonuclear conflict, the exchange of strikes will occur precisely over the Arctic.”
