Samsung users encouraged to trade in old devices before Christmas – here’s the reason

Samsung is encouraging users of its smartphones, tablets, or smartwatches to trade in their old devices, with the promise of a reward.

Many of us frequently upgrade our devices, whether it’s the latest smartphone or a new tablet. But often, this leaves us with a collection of old gadgets that are rarely used.

If you’re longing for a new Samsung Galaxy phone but can’t bring yourself to let your current device gather dust, there’s an option for you.

Samsung offers a solution through its Trade-In Scheme.

Similar to Amazon’s program, the Samsung Trade-In initiative focuses on sustainability, inviting users to recycle and refurbish their outdated gadgets.

Participants in the program can receive an immediate discount on a new Galaxy phone, or they can opt for Samsung Credits that are redeemable for future purchases.

The scheme accepts both functional and non-functional devices, and a comprehensive list of eligible products and their estimated values is provided on the Samsung Trade-In website.

If your current gadgets aren’t from Samsung, don’t fret. The program also accepts technology from other brands.

For those in need of a new phone, tablet, or smartwatch, trading in unused items is a practical choice.

It’s important to note that you can’t combine discounts from multiple devices. Each purchase can only be offset by trading in one device.

If you choose not to make a purchase immediately, trading in your devices will earn you Samsung Credits. These credits are available only for Galaxy smartphones when trading in.

On the other hand, you can trade in multiple devices to accumulate Samsung Credit, unlike during the purchase of a new device.

These credits cannot be used for subscriptions or third-party products and are valid in your Samsung Account for five years from issuance.
