Sarah Jessica Parker ‘conflict’ clarified after sharp remark by Sex and the City actress post-Golden Globes honor

Sarah Jessica Parker found herself unexpectedly caught up in a potential feud related to “Sex And The City” after a harsh remark from former co-star Chris Noth.

Parker, who is best known for playing Carrie Bradshaw, received the Carol Burnett Award during the Golden Globes. This honor seemed to trigger an unusual response from Noth, who previously played her on-screen partner, Mr. Big, throughout the HBO series and briefly in the revival, “And Just Like That.”

Many were taken aback by Noth’s comment, given his long-standing role as Carrie’s love interest and the history of good relations between him and Parker.

Noth posted a photo of himself exercising on Instagram, along with the caption, “F&@k new years – LETS GO!!!!.” When a follower jokingly commented about snubbing Parker’s award, Noth responded with a simple “Right.”

The relationship between Parker and Noth appears to have taken a hit after Noth faced allegations of sexual assault. In 2021, two women anonymously accused him of assault in incidents from 2004 and 2015 in Los Angeles and New York City, respectively.

Though Noth was not charged and denied the allegations as “categorically false,” his career has not recovered, and his character was killed off in the “And Just Like That” premiere. Variety also reported that additional scenes featuring him were cut.

In response to the allegations, Noth released a statement: “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago—no always means no—that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual.”

Parker has since distanced herself from Noth, ceasing contact following the accusations. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if she had spoken to Noth since December 2021, she simply replied, “No.”

Parker, alongside co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, issued a joint statement expressing their dismay over the allegations: “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”

Despite this, in the same year, Noth defended Parker in response to rumors of tension between her and Kim Cattrall, her former co-star. In an interview with the Guardian, he stated his strong support for Parker, criticizing negative comments about her and expressing his protective feelings towards her.
