Savannah Chrisley is defending her unborn child after her fiancé’s own brother branded the pregnancy his “biggest con yet.”
The 29-year-old “Chrisley Knows Best” alum announced Tuesday on Instagram that she is pregnant and engaged to Jason Galanis, 56, a convicted fraudster and former business associate of Hunter Biden. The reveal came with a video showing her baby bump alongside Jason, captioned, “I’ve prayed for this life. I’ve cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine.”

Derek Galanis, 54, Jason’s estranged brother, immediately fired back in an exclusive interview. “It’s his biggest con yet,” he said. “This girl’s in for a rocky ride. He’s not a changed man, he’s the same dude he always was.”

The brothers share a fraught history rooted in white-collar crime. Derek was convicted for his role in a securities conspiracy led by Jason and their father, John Galanis, between 2009 and 2011, later chronicling the family saga in his book “Greed and Fear: The Galanis Crime Family,” He said the last time he spoke to Jason was in 2016, when they were locked up together at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.
Derek claimed his public statements about Hunter Biden’s ties to the Galanis family helped secure Jason’s freedom, yet he never received thanks. “My noise about the Hunter Biden stuff is what got him out of prison,” he said. “You’d think he’d picked up the phone to say, ‘Hey, Derek, thanks for that.’ No, it’s off to the next thing.”

Jason Galanis was sentenced to 189 months in prison in September 2020 for multiple securities fraud schemes, including a $60 million plot to sell fake municipal bonds to the Wakpamni Lake Community of the Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota through Burnham Securities, a subsidiary of Burnham Financial Group. Hunter Biden served as vice chairman of BFG, where both men were equity partners from 2012 to 2015. In 2024 testimony to the House Oversight Committee, Hunter downplayed their connection, stating, “I think that 10 years ago for 30 minutes I was introduced to Jason Galanis, and that’s only – the only time I ever recall meeting him.”

The Chrisley and Galanis families intersected behind bars. Jason served time at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, in 2023 alongside Savannah’s father, Todd Chrisley. Both men were later pardoned by President Trump, with Jason’s sentence commuted while he was held at a corrections center in Montgomery, Alabama. “My brother is one year younger than her father,” Derek noted. “They were in prison together, right? Both my brother and her father were pardoned by Trump. This is a continuation. It’s wild.”

Savannah revealed on Tuesday’s episode of her “Unlocked” podcast that she met Jason through politics while advocating for her parents’ release. Todd and Julie Chrisley were imprisoned for bank and tax fraud charges. The couple got engaged in December 2025, just five months after they began dating, and Savannah acknowledged their 27-year age gap on the show.

That evening, she posted a sonogram on her Instagram Stories with a message directed at her baby. “You are not a headline. You are not a controversy,” she wrote. “You are not defined by anyone’s past, anyone’s mistakes, or anyone’s opinions.”

Jason was previously married and officially divorced in 2018, served with papers while in prison. Savannah’s representative and Jason were contacted for comment following Derek’s allegations.
