Kyle Chrisley has pleaded guilty to resisting arrest after a violent confrontation with Tennessee deputies last winter.
The 35-year-old reality TV alum, brother of podcaster Savannah Chrisley, 29, entered the plea at a hearing last month, according to court records. That same day, the court dismissed eight remaining charges against him, including three counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, three counts of retaliation for past action, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
The December incident in Rutherford County began when Kyle’s wife, Ashleigh Nelson, called dispatchers to report her husband was “being belligerent” and walking down the middle of a two-lane street while she followed in her car. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies found Kyle immediately aggressive when they attempted to speak with him.
“He became immediately aggressive, charged at deputies and began to throw punches and assault deputies,” the office said. “After a physical altercation and deployment of OC Spray, Mr. Chrisley was taken into custody.”
Nelson stated in an affidavit that Kyle was making suicidal and homicidal threats and punched three different officers in the face. The document also noted that Kyle told the officers he “would kill all of them.”
The guilty plea marks another chapter in Kyle’s long history of legal troubles. In May 2019, the former “Chrisley Knows Best” cast member was arrested for drug possession in Oklahoma. At that time, he also had an outstanding warrant for allegedly making death threats to a former partner earlier that year, though those charges were later dropped.
In March 2023, Kyle was detained for aggravated assault after allegedly waving a “fixed blade” during an altercation with his boss.
Kyle’s struggles with substance abuse led his parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, to adopt his daughter Chloe, now 13, in 2016. The elder Chrisleys are currently serving federal prison sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion.
Kyle’s sister Savannah announced this week that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with Jason Galanis, 56, a convicted felon. The podcast host also revealed that the couple had secretly gotten engaged last December — the same month as Kyle’s arrest.
