Savannah Guthrie’s appeal to potential kidnappers of her mother Nancy

Savannah Guthrie has expressed that her family is willing to ‘pay’ for the return of her mother, Nancy, to ensure their ‘peace’ a week after her alleged abduction.

84-year-old Nancy Guthrie is suspected of having been taken in the night on January 31 from her residence in Tucson, Arizona.

Concerns arose when Nancy was absent at church on February 1, which prompted alarm for Today host Savannah and her family.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has indicated that Nancy’s home is being treated as an ‘active crime scene’, noting they do not believe she ‘willingly’ left her residence.

In an update from the FBI, it was disclosed that a ransom note allegedly demanding millions in Bitcoin for her release had been sent to several outlets.

The statement read: “The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie.

“Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity.

“While this is one new piece of information, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are still asking anyone with tips to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. The FBI continues to offer a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”

A week following Nancy’s disappearance, Savannah has made a heartfelt appeal to her mother’s potential captors after details of the alleged ransom note surfaced.

Speaking alongside her siblings, Cameron and Annie, Savannah stated: “We received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her.

“This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

KOLD News/News 13 confirmed they received a message on February 6, but chose not to disclose much about the note out of respect for Nancy’s family.

“The new note contains information the senders seem to think will prove to investigators they’re the same people who sent the first note,” News 13 reported.

A missing person poster describes Nancy as a ‘vulnerable person’ last seen at her home near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue in Tucson.

Authorities are unsure ‘what clothing she may be wearing’, though she is described as 5′ 5″, 150 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes.
