Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved to a Pennsylvania prison with a documented history of alleged abuse and violence among inmates.
The 56-year-old music mogul is now housed at FCI Allenwood Low, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed Friday, following his transfer from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey where he had spent the past year. The move came just days after Combs sustained a head injury at Fort Dix, an incident that reports said involved a fight with fellow inmate Christopher “Dudus” Coke, a convicted Jamaican drug lord. Combs’ family denied that account, and the Bureau of Prisons declined to discuss what prompted the transfer.

Allenwood Low’s record includes a 2017 lawsuit in which former inmate Anthony Mammana accused a prison lieutenant of retaliatory confinement in a freezing room known as the “Yellow Room” for four days. Mammana claimed he was stripped of his usual clothing and forced to wear thin, transparent garments while being denied blankets, sheets and a pillow. He also said bright lights remained on around the clock, depriving him of sleep, and that he was denied basic necessities, including toilet paper, soap and towels, while guards mocked him.
The court agreed that Mammana’s treatment was inhumane. However, due to a legal technicality, he couldn’t pursue damages.

In a separate September 2025 development, federal prosecutors announced that 17 Allenwood Low inmates had been indicted over an alleged gang-related conspiracy to assault other prisoners in June 2023. Prosecutors alleged the defendants conspired to attack other inmates with dangerous weapons, including locks and other heavy objects attached to strings, belts and socks. According to authorities, the coordinated assault stemmed from a turf dispute to forcibly seize control of the housing unit’s television and telephone areas. Several defendants also faced charges of possessing prohibited weapons inside the prison. The prosecution was brought forward under a Department of Justice initiative targeting transnational criminal organizations.

Representatives for the Bureau of Prisons did not respond to request for comment.

Combs’ transfer follows a period during which reports suggested he had been enjoying unusual privileges at Fort Dix. Last month, reports said that four inmates alleged Combs had access to massages, premium alcohol and a cellphone while incarcerated at Fort Dix. The inmates also claimed other prisoners helped cook for him and clean his living space.

Combs’ representative pushed back on the reports, saying that Combs was serving his sentence in accordance with prison rules while pursuing an appeal.

The Bad Boy Records founder was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison in October 2025 after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy following his federal trial in New York. Combs is appealing his conviction and sentence. His projected release date is currently March 2, 2028.

The head injury that preceded Combs’ transfer had generated conflicting accounts, with the outlet’s fight report disputed by his family and prison officials remaining silent on the circumstances. The Bureau of Prisons declined to discuss the circumstances of Combs’ transfer.

Combs’ appeal of his conviction and sentence remains ongoing as he begins his tenure at the Pennsylvania facility.
