Selena Gomez’s admirers are expressing their disapproval of a Valentine’s Day gesture by Benny Blanco, calling it ‘nasty’.
The couple, who began their relationship in 2023 and are now engaged, have stirred up some negative reactions due to their unconventional Valentine’s Day display.
While many women might expect traditional gifts like flowers, chocolates, or a heartfelt card, Selena Gomez’s preference seems to lean towards cheese—and a significant amount of it.
On Instagram, Benny Blanco shared a video showcasing his extravagant gesture for Gomez, which involved a bathtub brimming with nacho cheese.
Rather than a display of rose petals, the music producer created a romantic setting with a trail of chips leading to the cheese-filled tub and ‘I love you’ spelled out with chips on the bathroom floor.
The clip revealed the bathtub overflowing with bright yellow nacho cheese sauce and a plethora of chips ready for dipping.
In the caption, Blanco explained his gesture: “When your fiancé isn’t much of a flowers girl.”
Despite Blanco’s intentions, the idea didn’t sit well with everyone, prompting some to voice their opinions on Twitter. They deemed it ‘nasty’ and questioned its hygiene.
One fan remarked: “After this I would never want queso or chips again lollll,” while another labeled it as ‘f****** disgusting’.
Another fan, assuming the couple might bathe in the cheese, commented: “Every girl’s dream, yeast infection for Valentine’s Day.”
