Selena Gomez is taking a break after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
Hours before her scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer notified her fans that she had to cancel. “I’m not going to be on Fallon tonight,” Gomez said in an Instagram Story message on Oct. 26 beside a photo of herself cuddling up on a couch. “I had covid but am now resting and feeling OK. A pleasant reminder that covid is still alive and well.”
“Get updated on your boosters,” the 30-year-old added. “I was actually scheduled to get mine this week. Love you all.”
Before her diagnosis, Gomez was scheduled to appear on the late-night program to promote her new documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, which would take audiences on a trip through her mental health journey. “Selena Gomez reaches unfathomable success after years in the spotlight.
But, just as she hits a new high point, an unforeseen turn draws her into the shadows ” a synopsis for the Apple TV+ doc states. “This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light.”
Gomez spoke about sharing her profoundly personal experience with the world ahead of the documentary’s Nov. 4 broadcast.
“As nervous as I am to put out something this personal, in my heart I know now is this time,” she told the outlet. “I hope that by sharing my experience and difficulties, it will help people feel inspired to share their own stories. And to have hope that things can and will get better.”
“It was never this thought-out plan thinking we were going to capture these very personal parts of my life,” the Only Murders in the Building actress noted. “It just evolved from there.”
