Shakira is said to be “devastated” after her ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué’s new girlfriend was spotted in a video interview he recorded from their family home while they were still together.
According to reports, the former couple were still “happily together” when the tape was shot.
The newly discovered tape, dated August 2021, shows ex-footballer Gerard’s new girlfriend and co-worker Clara Chia Marti, 23, in the backdrop of a Zoom interview he gave for Twitch from his house in Barcelona, while Shakira, 45, was apparently away with their two children.
Gerard, 35, then made his relationship with coworker Clara public.
The singer was “devastated” to “find that this woman obviously felt at home in the house they shared with their children,” according to the insider, who added, “They were very much still together at that time.”
They also said: “It’s devastating for her to learn that this affair had been going on for a lot longer than she imagined.”
Shakira appeared to take a shot at her ex with a New Year post on betrayal and pain, stating in an Instagram message: “Although our wounds stay open in this new year, time has a surgeon’s hands.
“Although someone has betrayed us we should continue to trust. Faced with scorn, continue to value ourselves.
“Because there are more good people than indecent ones. More people with empathy than indifference.”
Shakira, who has kids Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven, with Gerard, said in September their break-up had been a “incredibly difficult” moment.
