Ozzy Osbourne’s wife has shared insights into the rock star’s final moments before his passing and his last words to her.
In July this year, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman passed away at the age of 76, surrounded by family, as stated in a family announcement. Originally from Birmingham, UK, he left a profound legacy in the music world.
The heavy metal legend had been battling Parkinson’s disease since 2019 and succumbed to a heart attack at home. This tragic event occurred just weeks after his last performance at the one-off benefit concert, Back to the Beginning, at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK.
Sharon Osbourne, his widow, aged 73, recently opened up about Ozzy’s death and the overwhelming response it triggered worldwide, with fans flocking to his hometown to honor his memory.
In an interview with Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Sharon recounted Ozzy’s final moments.
Sharon mentioned that during the week leading up to his death, Ozzy had been experiencing “dreams” and was “seeing people that he never knew.”

She explained, “I said, ‘Well, what kind of people?’ He goes, ‘All different people. And I just keep walking and walking, and I’m seeing all these different people every night, and I go back there and I’m looking at these people, and they’re looking at me, and nobody’s talking’. And he knew. He was ready.”
On their last night together, Sharon recalled that Ozzy had been restless, getting in and out of bed. She remembered, “It was like 4.30, and he said, ‘Wake up’. I said, ‘I’m already bloody awake, you’ve woken me up’. And he said, ‘Kiss me’. And then he said, ‘Hug me tight’,” she shared. “If only I’d have held him tighter. And he went downstairs, worked out for 20 minutes and passed away.”
The Osbournes star also recounted discovering him, saying, “He had a heart attack. I ran downstairs, and there he was, and they were trying to resuscitate him, and I’m like, ‘Don’t — just leave him. Leave him. You can’t. He’s gone’.
“I knew instantly he’d gone. And they tried and tried, and then they took him by helicopter to the hospital and they tried, and it’s like, ‘He’s gone. Just leave him’.”

Sharon also mentioned that medical professionals had warned their family that the benefit performance might be Ozzy’s last, saying, “The main doctor said to him that if he did the show, ‘That’s it, you’re not gonna get through it’.”
During a discussion on The Osbournes podcast about Ozzy’s passing, Kelly highlighted the comforting support they received, describing it as ‘so helpful’.
“I never could have even imagined it to be as helpful as it has been to know that we’re not alone in our grief, in our sadness and that the rest of the world loved him as much as we did,” Kelly expressed.
“I haven’t seen an outpouring like that since Princess Diana died. I didn’t expect it.”
Sharon added, “Ozzy, he wouldn’t believe it. He wouldn’t. He didn’t realise how much he was loved and that was his beauty because he never took it for granted from anyone.”
