The Osbournes have never been shy about standing up for one another, and that protective streak has only intensified in the months following Ozzy’s death.
The Black Sabbath icon, known as the “Prince of Darkness,” died at 76 just two weeks after his final concert in July 2025. The family has been navigating the loss in different ways, and the public reaction has added another layer to their grief.
Sharon Osbourne, 73, addressed the situation while speaking to Extra at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party, focusing on the criticism her daughter Kelly, 41, has faced during mourning.
As online comments about Kelly’s appearance escalated over recent months, Sharon said she supports the way her daughter has confronted what she described as bullying—particularly as Kelly has pushed back directly on social media.

Some people have speculated that Kelly’s visible weight change was linked to GLP-1 medications such as Mounjaro or Wegovy. Kelly, however, has repeatedly said her transformation stemmed from grief.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, she wrote: “To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right.’
“My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family.”
She later confronted critics again, calling out those who she felt were exploiting her situation, saying: “Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most.”

She added: “None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character. I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!”
Sharon later backed Kelly’s blunt response to critics, saying at the Elton John Oscars after party that ‘people that give it out have to get it back.’ She suggested that when someone targets another person publicly, they shouldn’t be surprised if the response is equally direct.
Kelly has continued to field harsh remarks. Last month, she responded after some commenters compared her to a ‘dead body’ and claimed she was ‘too thin and fragile’. Kelly wrote: “Literally can’t believe how disgusting some human beings truly are!
“No one deserves this sort of abuse!”
The messages appeared to weigh on her, and she later posted again, sharing a screenshot of the comments and adding: “This too shall pass, but like, holy f**k.”
