Sharon Stone reveals ‘the best kisser in the business’ after sharing her honest opinion on sex scenes

Sharon Stone has opened up about which co-star she considers Hollywood’s top on-screen kisser after decades in the business.

Across a career that spans more than 60 films, Stone has taken on plenty of romantic storylines, sharing the screen with actors such as Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct, Billy Baldwin in Silver, Sylvester Stallone in The Specialist, and Robert De Niro in Casino.

These days, however, Stone and her Silver co-star Baldwin aren’t exactly on friendly terms. She previously claimed the movie’s producer suggested she sleep with the actor so that his performance “would get better”.

Baldwin later pushed back, implying Stone either had “a crush” on him years later or was “still hurt all these years later because [he] shunned her advances”.

Yikes.

Given the very public tension, it’s not hard to guess that Baldwin didn’t get Stone’s vote for best kiss in the industry.

Instead, while appearing on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show, Stone said one actor kissed her “right out of [her] shoes” — and she named De Niro.

“Oh my god. He’s the best kisser in the business,” she said of the acting legend.

Looking back on filming a kissing moment for Casino, Stone described the setup for the scene and how it played out on the day.

“I remember the day that we did this scene where I have to go to the bathroom and, because I play this hustler, I get him to give me money to go to the bathroom.

“He looks at me and he reaches in and gives me 100 [dollars] and then I lean over and I kiss him, and he really just knocked me out.”

Stone added that the chemistry was so noticeable it even seemed to fluster director Martin Scorsese. Though he had the take he needed, he apparently offered them another shot because of how much they appeared to enjoy it.

“Marty cut, and he looks at us and goes, ‘I think we got it but would you guys like another one?'” Stone said. “And we both looked at him and went, ‘Yeah, I think maybe we need one more.'”

Stone has long spoken warmly about De Niro, and has described working with him on Casino as an experience that changed her professionally.

“I learned more from working with Robert De Niro than I think I probably learned all together in my entire career,” she told E! News in 2024.

She also praised Scorsese and the rest of the team behind the 1995 film, saying she remains close with the director.

Stone went on to say of Scorsese and everybody else who worked on the 1995 hit movie: “I love working with Marty Scorsese, and my relationship has stayed very much intact.”

“Working with Jimmy Woods, unbelievable,”‘ she added. “Joe Pesci, who really fought for me to get this job, was great to me… These guys, they mean a lot to me. Nothing would be more exciting to me than to do anything with any of them.”

Her comments arrive not long after she explained why she tends to skip past many modern sex scenes, arguing that today’s films can feel overly explicit.

“When sex scenes come on TV, I fast forward,” she explained to Gayle King. “I don’t want to see it. I don’t want to have to go through all of this blatant, harsh sexuality. For me, it steals from my own imagination. And I prefer my yearning, mystery, desire. I want to keep that alive inside myself.”
