A poignant video has surfaced depicting a SeaWorld killer whale defecating in the water before seemingly flinging the waste towards spectators.
Visitors at the park, seated in the splash zone for an orca show, received an unexpected surprise when the playful orca jumped out of the water and splashed down in front of them.
This event occurred at SeaWorld San Antonio, in Texas, leaving attendees, including Samantha King, in surprise.
“It was shocking,” she mentioned according to Times Now World.
“We anticipated getting wet sitting so close, but not like that. It smelled terrible, and people were gagging.”
The footage captures the orca defecating just below the water’s surface, visible through the glass enclosure, and then swimming around to leap into the air.
When it landed, it sent its waste flying out of the pool along with the water, splashing on the spectators.
A boy is seen turning in disgust towards the camera after the whale’s feces went airborne, drenching him and leaving him visibly shocked.
The video quickly went viral, evoking mixed reactions from viewers.
On Twitter, one user remarked: “The whale knows. It’s trying to tell everyone that it’s tired of jumping for everyone.”
Another commented: “All orcas belong in the wild.”
A third person asserted: “Orca’s are incredibly smart. It knew exactly what he did.”
According to Orca Torch, there is evidence suggesting that an orca’s intelligence is comparable to that of a 15 to 16-year-old human, with their brains weighing up to 15 pounds.
Other Twitter users found humor in the situation.
One person joked: “The ultimate troll.”
Another wrote on the platform: “Lol. homeboy looks horrified.”
Someone else added: “This is the most Sam Antonio thing I’ve ever seen.”
After the incident, those who were splashed with feces were reportedly taken to a special area of the park for decontamination, where they received soap, towels, and bottled water.
SeaWorld issued the following statement: “We regret this unfortunate event and are taking every step to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests.
“Our team followed established protocols to minimize health risks and will review our procedures to prevent this from happening again.”
