Shocking Video Reveals Effects of Eating ‘Spiciest Curry’ Served by Waiter in Gas Mask

A video that has gained significant attention on Reddit captures the shocking moment when a man attempted to eat what is described as the ‘hottest curry,’ served by a waiter outfitted in a gas mask.

While certain spicy curries can cause discomfort, leaving you reaching for relief with a cold drink, one individual found himself physically overwhelmed after trying a particularly fiery dish.

The challenge was undertaken by a man named Daniel at Bengal Village, a restaurant located on Brick Lane in London.

The extraordinary heat of the dish was evident from the start, as the waiter approached Daniel’s table wearing gloves, sunglasses, and a gas mask.

As the video unfolds, Daniel is seen taking a large spoonful of the curry, but it soon becomes apparent that he is regretting his decision.

The waiter, Mr. Raj, commented, “It does get to the back of your throat a bit. Have some water, we’ll be alright.”

“It is the world’s hottest curry,” he added, as Daniel showed visible signs of distress from the heat. “I want you to enjoy it.”

The footage later shows Daniel outside the restaurant, lying on the ground next to a carton of milk and an empty water bottle, which he likely consumed in an attempt to mitigate the intense heat.

During this ordeal, Daniel had removed his shirt and was sweating heavily, which, according to Mr. Raj, is a common reaction within the first 15 minutes of eating even a small portion of the curry.

Mr. Raj then appeared outside with a large glass of mango lassi to aid the struggling customer.

“I swear to god, you’ll be alright,” the waiter assured as he handed over the drink. “You’ve got 10 minutes left to recover. No longer than that – you’ve done the 15 minutes.”

“After having that mango lassi, I swear to god, you’ll recover,” he continued. “It will cool all your insides, your livers and your throat as well and within 10 minutes you’ll be back up. Believe me.”

“Just listen to me, I know I’m not a doctor,” the waiter humorously remarked to persuade Daniel to drink.

The challenge has attracted numerous customers, many of whom have been unable to complete it, gaining considerable attention on social media.

Bengal Village offers a promotion: if a participant finishes the curry within 15 minutes, the meal for their entire table is free, regardless of the number of guests.

The restaurant’s ‘hottest curry’ contains 72 spices, featuring the extremely hot Carolina Reaper and a rare Bangladeshi chili known as the ‘snake chili.’ The website includes a disclaimer: “We take no responsibility for any after effects.”

Speaking to The Sun, the owner, Mo, stated, “We believe it’s actually the world’s hottest, but the public can decide that. We add 72 different chilies to this curry, so it costs us a lot more to make than to sell it.”

He emphasized, “We do not encourage any customers to have this dish, they do on their own accord.”

Daniel reportedly recovered after 30 minutes, with Mo describing the experience as merely a ‘temporary pain.’
