We love a good life hack — particularly when it involves using something that seemingly has no use at all, like silica bags.

These little bags of beads that are found when you buy shoes, handbags, and electronic items are actually incredibly useful. So you can ignore the “THROW AWAY” warning.

The beads are made of silicon dioxide, which removes moisture from the surrounding air by attracting water particles and so protect items from becoming damp and developing mold.

This makes them very useful indeed, as the video below points out.
