Singer D4vd is now at the center of a grand jury investigation after a teenage girl was discovered dead inside his Tesla last September.
About six months ago, investigators found a body in an advanced state of decomposition inside the trunk area of a vehicle registered to the artist.
D4vd’s representatives — the musician’s real name is David Anthony Burke — previously said in a statement that the singer ‘has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities’.
Authorities identified the victim as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas-Hernandez. She was last seen in April 2024 and was reported missing at the time, when she was 13.
Recently unsealed court filings indicate members of D4vd’s family were ordered by a California court to appear and give testimony to the grand jury.

The artist has been described as a “target” in a Los Angeles probe examining one potential murder count.
He has not been charged with any crime, and officials have not formally named him as a defendant in the matter.
According to court paperwork, officers ‘observed a decomposed head and torso’ on September 8, 2025, after which the Los Angeles county medical examiner’s office attended the location.
Documents added: “Upon removing the cadaver bag from the front storage compartment, it was discovered the arms and legs had been severed from the body. A second black bag was discovered underneath the cadaver bag. Upon opening the second bag, the dismembered body parts were discovered.”

A specific cause of death has not yet been released. In an earlier statement, the medical examiner’s office said Celeste ‘appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found.’
Investigators also told NBC4 Investigates that they believe Celeste likely died in the spring of last year.
