LeAnn Rimes was left in tears after undergoing an intense “deep jaw release” technique, which she appeared to document in an emotional Instagram video.
The process lasted around 60 seconds, but it seemed to bring a sudden shift for the Coyote Ugly actor and singer, who looked as though she’d been carrying jaw discomfort for a long time.
In footage shared by Human Garage — a self-care brand known for its fascia-focused maneuvers — co-founder Garry Lineham, wearing gloves, places his hand inside Rimes’ mouth while another practitioner assists. From the clip, it looks like firm pressure is applied as part of the release.
Moments later, Rimes begins crying as Lineham removes his finger, suggesting the movement triggered a powerful physical and emotional response.
“You don’t realize how much tension is in there until it’s gone.”
The post, which has collected more than 24,000 likes, included a caption reflecting on the release and what can surface during bodywork.
“Healing isn’t always quiet. Sometimes it’s a physical letting go of things we didn’t even know we were carrying.”

The account also described the session as a visible turning point, suggesting the moment marked a clear “before and after” in how Rimes looked on camera.
“In this powerful session, @garrylineham works with @leannrimes on a deep Jaw Release,”
“You can see the exact moment the tension breaks and the emotional weight lifts, leaving her feeling visibly lighter and more aligned.”
The caption went on to claim that stress commonly accumulates in the jaw and surrounding tissues, and that releasing it can sometimes bring up strong feelings.
“The jaw is one of the body’s primary storage sites for stress. When we hold back our voice or push through pressure, the fascia in the face and neck ‘locks’ to protect us. By using the maneuvers to signal safety to the nervous system, we can finally allow that stored energy to move.”
In the comments, viewers who said they’d experienced similar work shared their own reactions, with many describing the release as intense but ultimately relieving.
“I’ve had that work done. Anger is held in the jaw and underneath anger is sadness. You can’t release the jaw without releasing all the pain. This is a very common response. I know so well.”
“I so know what that feels like. It’s wildly intense but it feels so good after,”
Others said that seeing Rimes’ reaction struck a chord, and they found themselves getting emotional while watching.
“Bless you angel for sharing this. I cried with you.”
“I felt this in my soul,”
“I got very teary watching this.”
Jaw tightness like the kind Rimes appeared to have can happen for a variety of reasons, with stress often cited as a major contributor.
Healthline notes that other potential causes of a tight or locked jaw can include temporomandibular joint disorders, teeth grinding, frequent or excessive chewing, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and facial trauma, among other issues.
“Some ways to help relieve jaw tightness include massage, jaw stretches, wearing a mouthguard at night, avoiding hard foods, and trying stress-relieving activities,”
