Scientists Reveal What Dinosaurs Really Looked Like, And It’s Pretty Weird

Jurassic Park lied, you guys. New scientific research suggests that dinosaurs weren’t overgrown lizards — instead, they more closely resembled the fowl family.

According to scientists, dinosaurs were covered in brightly-colored feathers and made cooing and mumbling sounds similar to pigeons.

The research, published in the journal Evolution, was studying the noises made by the ancestors of birds.

“To make any kind of sense of what non-avian dinosaurs sounded like, we need to understand how living birds vocalize,” Professor Julia Clarke who co-authored the paper said.

“This makes for a very different Jurassic world. Not only were dinosaurs feathered, but they may have had bulging necks and made booming, closed-mouth sounds.”

Every dinosaur movie from now on will be ruined for me. Thanks a lot, paleontologists.
