Sophie Turner has shared that she and Kit Harington had to share a kiss for a new film, an experience the two found unpleasant.
If you watched Game of Thrones, you’ll remember Turner as Sansa Stark and Harington as Jon Snow, who was Sansa’s half-brother. The two worked on the iconic TV series from 2011 to 2019, and during that period, they essentially grew up together.
Turner began filming the first season at the age of 15, while Harington was 24 at the time.
Recently, the British actress appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers to promote her upcoming movie Trust, scheduled for release on Friday, August 22.
After discussing the thriller, host Seth Meyers brought up a rumor involving Turner and the 38-year-old Harington.
“Also, to loop it back to Game of Thrones, Kit Harington – who we adore here – you did a film with Kit,” he said.
“That’s so exciting. Now, how does that come about?”
Turner explained: “Well, I just got the script for this amazing gothic horror called The Dreadful, and I was reading through all the characters – and I’m producing it so the director [Natasha Kermani] was asking me, you know, ‘Who do you think?’.”
“And immediately the first person I thought of was Kit. And so I sent the script to Kit, and he… he kind of sent me a message back going like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really f**king weird Soph’.”
“And I was like, ‘What is he talking about?’, and then I was reading it and I’m like ‘Kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex’ – and then I’m like, ‘Oh, shoot, that’s my brother’.”
She went on to say: “But it’s such a good script that he was like, ‘We kind of have to do it’. So then we put it out our minds and then we get on set and it’s the first kissing scene and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile – it was the worst… another really bad moment in my career.”
Turner was asked if it was more challenging than a scene in Trust where she was covered in a ‘hundred’ live cockroaches.
She humorously confessed: “Yeah. I have to be honest, it was bad.”
While Game of Thrones featured numerous incestuous relationships, it’s not something we want to hear about happening off-screen!
