South Park creator reacts after White House releases harsh statement on controversial Trump joke in season opener

Trey Parker, one of the minds behind South Park, had an interesting reaction to the White House’s critique of the show for its portrayal of Donald Trump.

For those unfamiliar, South Park has been on the air for decades and is known for its willingness to satirize anyone and everyone.

It appears that Trump’s administration might not have anticipated being the subject of such satire and had a notably adverse reaction to it.

When season 27 of South Park debuted, it took numerous shots at Trump, poking fun at his manhood and depicting him in a compromising position with Satan. Trump is shown undressing and climbing into bed with a large red Satan, who dismisses his advances.

Despite the rejection, Trump’s character quips: “Come on Satan, I’ve been working hard all day.”

Over the years, South Park has poked fun at numerous presidents, and being lampooned by the show is often seen as a testament to one’s public presence. However, the White House disagreed with this sentiment.

In typical South Park style, Trey Parker addressed the uproar at San Diego’s Comic-Con International during a Comedy Central animation panel.

He remarked with a straight face, ‘we’re terribly sorry,’ and paused for comedic effect.

This response was unlikely to appease the White House, which issued a stern statement after the episode aired.

White House Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers criticized the political left and remarked: “The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end — for years, they have come after South Park for what they labeled as ‘offense’ [sic] content, but suddenly they are praising the show.”

Rogers then turned his criticism towards the show, stating: “Just like the creators of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows.

“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.

“President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”
